Windows 10 Build 17133 - Oops - Not the RTM

As I published in an earlier post that was also reported by most blogs, industry analysts and media outlets, Windows 10 build 17133 was scheduled to be made available to the public on Tuesday April 10.

Well Tuesday came and went and while a Cumulative Update was released for folks on the Fall Creators Update - so 1709 or 16299 depending on your PoV - crickets on the "Spring Creators Update".

First MS notified folks that they had run into a "blocking" bug that would delay the release.   But on 4/12 MS demoted the build - so it looks like the 1803 or 17133 build will NOT be publicly released build.

As a Windows Insider on both the Fast & Skip Ahead Rings - we have seen nothing as it relates to what exactly the block bug was and when we'll see a new build.

There was a new Skip Ahead build released this week - 17643 which continues to expand on the Sets feature.

With it being Friday afternoon as I write this - I don't expect to see a new build this week.  So the earliest will probably be Tuesday of next week - the 17th.

And if then the feedback from Insiders, plus internal testing doesn't find any thing - we're probably now looking to Patch Tuesday in May so May 8th for the public to see branch 1803.  Probably a build in the 17140 or even 150s.

But as we've learned via recent MS announcements - Windows as we know it is changing and so MS's attempt as a bi-annual release schedule - ala many Linux distros - may also go away.

More to come.
